Privacy Policy

TP Word of the Day ("the app," "we," "us") is developed and operated by Nihaal Najeeb. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Summary

The app does not have user accounts, does not run analytics, and does not track you. Your word progress, streaks, and settings are stored only on your device. The only information transmitted off-device is what is required to process and verify your subscription through the App Store, handled by Apple and our subscription infrastructure provider, RevenueCat.

1.Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following data locally, on your device only. This information is never transmitted to us:

  • Streak count, longest streak, and completed-day history
  • Awards earned
  • App settings (reminder time, notification preferences, display name if set)
  • Current progress within the daily word set

This data does not leave your device unless you back up your phone using Apple's own iCloud or device backup system, which we do not control and do not have access to.

2.Information Processed for Subscriptions

TP Word of the Day is a paid, subscription-based application. When you subscribe, purchase information is handled by the following third parties:

  • Apple, Inc. (App Store): processes payment and manages your subscription. We do not have access to your payment details, name, or Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat, Inc.: used to verify and manage subscription status. RevenueCat identifies you using an anonymous, randomly generated identifier — not your name, email address, or Apple ID. The app does not enable RevenueCat's optional device-identifier or advertising-attribution collection; no advertising identifier is collected. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

3.Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not require or offer account creation, sign-up, or login.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or contact details unless you contact us directly.
  • We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
  • We do not request App Tracking Transparency authorization, as the app performs no tracking.

4.Notifications

If notifications are enabled, the app schedules local notifications on your device using Apple's notification system. This process occurs entirely on-device; no notification content or schedule data is transmitted to us or any third party.

5.Children's Privacy

TP Word of the Day is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. As the app collects no personal information from any user, there is no personal data collected from any user regardless of age.

6.Your Choices and Rights

  • Delete local data: In the app's Settings, "Delete Account" permanently removes all locally stored data (streaks, awards, settings) from your device. Deleting the app has the same effect.
  • Manage your subscription: Subscriptions are managed entirely through your Apple ID, via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, or the "Manage Subscription" link within the app.
  • Restore purchases: Use "Restore Purchases" within the app when reinstalling or switching devices under the same Apple ID.
  • Access or delete RevenueCat-held data: RevenueCat holds only an anonymous identifier and purchase history — no name or email address. Contact us at the address below to request deletion of this data.

As we do not operate a backend or maintain user accounts, most data-subject requests (access, correction, or deletion under GDPR or CCPA) can be resolved directly on your device. For any other request, contact us using the information below.

7.Data Retention

Local data is retained on your device until you delete it or delete the app. RevenueCat retains anonymous subscription records for as long as necessary to support your subscription and to satisfy standard financial record-keeping obligations, in accordance with its own policy.

8.Security

Local data is protected by your device's own security mechanisms, including passcode protection and encryption at rest. Subscription processing is handled by Apple's and RevenueCat's secure infrastructure; we do not receive or store payment information.

9.Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app introduces user accounts or analytics — this page will be updated and the effective date above will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
